Set in Brooklyn in the 1970s, the video explores Gloria living in the shadows as she is forced to hide her homosexuality. We see her flourishing relationship with her female neighbour, which develops into a budding sexuality that can never be realised. Backgrounded by the social and economic pressures of the time, the two women sacrifice living their truths for the betterment of their children. A young Shawn Carter witnesses the vulnerability in his mother for the first time and through her pain learns to smile through adversity. JAY-Z’s lyricism concludes with a poem written by Gloria in which she unveils her homosexuality for the first time, revealing the insight of her experience. Smile is a special and personal film, rendered compassionately by Miles Jay and expertly photographed by Stuart Winecoff.

The Magic Gang 's latest video directed by Zac Ella is a purposefully stilted comedy filled with a myriad of continuity errors following a girl’s first meeting with the awkward in laws. 

Taking place on location in Vietnam, Naughty Boy's "Once Chance To Dance" directed by Zhang + Knight, tells the story of two young girls living in rural Vietnam who are infatuated with cinema. They spend their time re-enacting famous movie scenes and dressing up as characters from the films. However when they run away to Hanoi they are unable to recapture the carefree play that they experienced at home and the two girls drift apart.                  From Zhang + Knight: "It was thoroughly enjoyable creating a video which featured happiness and dancing for once. Production highlights include a diva buffalo, travelling in a fleet of boats over a lake in pitch darkness, nearly losing the camera (and crew) to a high speed train… and of course watching the phenomenally talented Ha My and Ha Thien Trang recreating the Pulp Fiction twist in the streets of Hanoi. We’re so lucky that all of this was exquisitely captured by Nick Morris."

'LMK' is a battle cry and the video, directed by longtime Björk collaborator Andrew Thomas Huang, is a surreal visual that sees Kelela moving through hazy, club-like environments with authority and a take-no-prisoners attitude. Reflecting on the video, Huang says, "We wanted make a video that showcases the multiplicity of who Kelela is and who she has the potential to be. The video is essentially a grand unveiling featuring Kelela wearing different wigs and guises as she pushes through the club with her friends, ultimately revealing herself at the end of the video. The message of this video is empowerment: it's for the girls, for anyone whose heart has been trampled on and deserves to go out and feel good about themselves. It's a call to action, demanding to be taken and to be quick about it. This is the reason why we love Kelela - she's making herself vulnerable and kicking down doors in the process."

Beehive is a tale of two lonely vampires and their last search for blood. Set in Clacton upon sea, this film explores the concept of ageing and fitting in in a world which has changed. Directed by Zhang+Knight.

Shot on 16mm, John Merizalde presents a story of two young teenagers forbidden love, in and amongst an odd cult they've become trapped in for Declan McKenna's 'Bethlehem'.From John: "When I first listened to the track, I was reminded of a small rural town in Georgia called Bethlehem, about an hour away from where I grew up. That, coupled with the themes behind the track - basically a critique against religiously-motivated violence and hate - were the initial catalyst for theidea. The use of 16mm film and slow zooms were incorporated to hopefully give it a more old-school feel. And no, I never attended a snake church growing up... Although I do know some people that did."

We're exceptionally proud to be presenting this technical feat from the extraodinary minds of PussyKrew for Cadenza's 'No Drama' featuring UK Grime artist Avelino and Jamaican heavyweight Assassin. From PK: "Our aim was to create a piece beyond the standard performance video. We presented the artists as 3D scans and fused them with digitally created environment. The vibe of the track is intense, bit aggressive. We were trying to recreate this atmosphere as a visual experience and produce powerful imagery, where the invisible violence is transformed into personal strength."

In a statement, Gold Panda said of the video: I asked Rob to just come and film us (my gran and I) being boring. A Taller Us, Foxtrott's debut album (released on Bjork's record label, One little Indian) is a musical interpretation of life's monolithic challenges. Alongside director and ongoingcollaborator Kevin Calero, the Montreal based singer/producer elaborated on that metaphor for Foxtrott's "Shaky Hands" video. The result is a vertical climb through various stages of inner turmoil. Set in a quarry 4 hours south of Montreal, Canada, the video further develops the visual language initially explored in the video for previous single Driven. Choreographer Wynn Holmes rejoins the team to aid in highlighting the songs musical structure through movement. The result is a disorientingly classic tale of "survival of the fittest".

From Irrum: "Kari told me she thought it was interesting if we represented the themes of the song, a choice, a gamble, giving up on something - with something simple and relatable, we decided on a game. The video puts us in a graphical game scenario, the format has some similarities to that of a classic TV game show, but we left the rules and context surrounding it pretty undefined."

"Runaway" has a sort of upbeat feel but there's a dark edge, it seemed to fit perfectly. "Clean Cut Kid" had some very specific things they wanted in the video and the idea evolved into what we have here - then chuck in a boiled down half day rehearsal with actors of the calibre of Kierston Waering and Frank Doody and we were off.

Bullion's James Willis teams up with Shakka in presenting a video that portrays two different worlds. One being a laidback uneventful lifestyle whilst the other is filled with debauchery and fun. 

"This is the second collaboration between Coeur de Pirate and director Kevin Calero, inspired by the visual poetics of Japanese photographer Rinko Kawauchi. “The video was shot across vast swaths of California last February,” says Calero. “Driving up 5,000ft in altitude in Sequoia National Park at night without winter tires or phone reception during a snowstorm definitely made this a memorable experience. It felt ironic to have left the Montréal winter to shoot snow-covered sequoias and cacti in California.”

Mumford & Sons have shared their video for "Ditmas", the latest single from recent third LP Wilder Mind. Directed by Alex Southam, and shot on location in Kiev, the story follows a native cossack breaking a horse within the epic rural landscape.  From Alex: "The Cossack character (Evgeniy) in the video is a genuine cossack raised within a cossack community - part of his work now is to break and train horses so was the perfect subject for our film. Whilst the shoot was pretty brutal and unforgiving - particularly for our hero - we captured something really special, no more so than the moments in the final third of the video where our hero finally becomes one with the horse." Part 2 of the story still to come…watch this space.

Colin Tilley has made a badass film ft. Chance The Rapper! Premiering over at VICE 'Mr Happy' is Colin's first film and was written by Steven Mcclean & David Singer-Vine (of the music duo The Cataracs). Best known for his work in music videos with mega-acts, Tilley describes how this film gave him an opportunity to reach outside of the visual realm he has carved out. "Mr Happy is my first film ... my first super super narrative piece of work that anyone's seen from me. I am known for a certain visual style in the music video world, so I wanted to take a completely different approach that people haven't seen from Colin Tilley before," explains Tilley.

When the project came in it was extremely open ended, all that mattered was that we use duck character's to announce that Quack Is Back. So we spent a lot of time writing with DS's team, going back and forth on characters, their stories, and which tracks fit which duck, and by the end of it all, we chose to produce the concepts that made us giggle like a group of school girls. My favorite is the weight lifter duck, so feel free to analyze what that says about me.

'Into the Blue' sees the return of the magnificent collaboration between Kylie and director Dawn Shadforth. Stylish, sophisticated and intimate, the promo shows the pop star alongside French actor Clement Sibony; best known for his roles in The Tourist and He Loves Me Not.

A few words from Dawn:
I had wanted to do something different with Kylie for ages, less about dancing and performance, more about acting and emotion. The idea for the video came from my surprisingly emotional response to this pop song.   There's something in the lyrics and that melancholic/euphoric melody I found really moving.  I wanted to express something simple and universal about love.

Following the success of ‘Mad Love’, Emil and Elli switch things up with an abstract, gothic approach for ‘When It Was Dark’. We love the look of this. Props to Pat Mellor for his 35mm skills....

It is a mesmerising and emotional short film that follows the build up and eventual fight from the perspective of the twins, their family and their past.

A steady buzz has been growing around Atlantic Records newest electro-synth artist Kwabs.  Premiering on i-D, Emil pulled out all the stops on a rainy night in London to produce this captivating video for the Sohn produced track 'Wrong or Right'.

Combining some mesmerizing choreography, compositions and storytelling,  the film follows the story of one mans journey through the underbelly of a lost city. A music video that stays with you till the very end.

Ollie Murray goes back to his roots, enlisting the help of his hometown locals in the new video for Texan outfit Midlake. 'The Old and The Young' stars John Campling of Harry Potter fame and was all filmed on a sheep farm in Buckinghamshire, so there ya go.

It's a stunning animated clip for "V (Island Song)", directed by PICNIC with a script by These New Puritans frontman Jack Barnett. It features a group of islands, which become a girl, who eventually gets chopped up and fed to party attendees as hors d'oeuvres.  Jack had photographed sketches and quotes and created a full script for the video. It was PICNIC's challenge to pull together all these elements from Jack to create a cohesive film that was visually striking. The film is a combination of 2D and 3D animation. PICNIC had just one month to create over 7 minutes of animation. It was a truly unique project, one that was incredibly creative and collaborative, and everyone involved is thrilled with the end result.

Lapalux worked closely with film director Nick Rutter to create the acclaimed music video for Nostalchic lead single Without You. Lapalux and Nick Rutter came together again but this time in reverse; the music for Chrysalis was written specially for the film, the footage shot to tell a gritty and disturbing story of unrequited teenage love. Set in suburban rural England fifteen year old Alex is in love with classmate Milly. Unable to express his feelings he becomes isolated in a destructive mental state witch goes unnoticed by Milly.

In this title sequence for digital production conference Collider in NY, the team at Neon created this dramatic abstract collision of live action and VFX, enhanced with haunting sound design.  Although limited in terms of time, money and resources, the guys were given a completely open brief, so felt it was an amazing opportunity to once again demonstrate their force as a creative team as well as their impeccable live action production and VFX skills

Emil's second outing with Rita Ora takes her on an epic journey back to her homeland of Kosovo.  The Nava/Ora partnership, pushing all the right buttons once again!

As Amit & Naroop they produced some awesome videos for Miss Dynamite, Alexandra Burke and Marcus Collins.  Now Naroop has stepped out on his own in the video world and delivered his brand new video for Sway ft Mr Hudson. This is also Naroop's first video since joining forces with those handsome guys and girls at Rokkit.
